Q: How long will it take?
A:
A website can take anywhere from a couple days, to 6 weeks to design, depending on the size of the site. The text should be given in electronic format, preferably MS Word format. If you have the text for your site written before the design process begins, it saves more time to design the site.

We can design all types of sites, ranging from simple one-page brochure sites, to large e-commerce sites.

A:
Not at all! We do all the complicated computer stuff. All you have to do is give us the information and any design ideas you have, or want on the site, and we will do the rest!

Q: How would traffic flow to my website?
A:
Traffic can come to your web site from many areas such as:
Search Engine Listings
Other Web Sites, Yours is Linked To

Banners You May Have Set Up

You can use other methods to promote your website as well. Put your website address on all your stationary, including forms of advertising. Tell all your customers and clients about it.

Q: How would my website be listed on search engines?
A:
We create websites in a manner that allows search engines to easily crawl index the web pages. Later on you may want to submit your website to search engines as well. It is an easy process to submit your own site. Many search engines have a "submit your site" link.

Internet Information

Q: What is a domain name and why do I need one?
A:
Every website must have a domain name. A domain name is your website's unique address on the Web.
Let's say your company name is Bob's Tractors, your domain can be http://www.bobstractors.com. The most common domain names end in .com, .ca, .net, .org, or .on.ca. There are many more to choose from, as new ones keep getting added to the list.

Q: What is hosting and why do I need it?
A:
Hosting is like your home for your website. It is a place where your domain name, web pages, and graphics are located. You rent web space through a hosting company. Most hosting companies offer monthly, quarterly, and yearly packages. We offer hosting on a monthly and yearly basis.

The cost for hosting depends on your needs. It depends on how much space you need, how many visitors you expect to your site, and whether you want to run an online business on your site.

Q: What tips can you give me for designing a website?
A:
In order to have your website viewable by all your clients and customers there are a few rules you have to follow. Your website should be:
Easy to Find
Quick Loading
Easy to Navigate
Easy to Read
A Consistent Layout and Design

Q: What steps do I have to take to get my business online?
A:
Your first step is to contact us. We will then ask about details on your business. We would want to get a feel for what you want and then schedule a time to meet with you. We would then discuss a website design and how you want your website to reflect your business and what you offer. After that we would then begin designing your website, during which time we will have you come in and review the process during different phases. During the design period you can provide us with any changes and assist us in the final review of your site. This way you will be completely satisfied with your new site.

Information Gathering

Q: What information do you need to build a website for my business?
A:
First we would need information about your business. What you have to offer, and how you want to portray yourself. If you aren't sure of what to say about your business don't worry, we can help. Just a basic overview of your company is good enough for your opening page of your website. Your main page should consist of your company logo and your company colors, in a clear and concise navigation scheme. After that we can go into more detail for the rest of the site.

Q: What if our office does not have a scanner?
A:
If you don't have a scanner just send us a copy of your brochure, or if you don't have a brochure, send us a copy of your letterhead with a company logo. For the graphics you want displayed on your site, send them by mail and we will scan them for you, and return them when we are done. There is an extra cost for scanning images.

Q: What if I'm not sure what to put on my website?
A:
We can provide ideas and examples that would fit for your business. We can also suggest a suitable layout and theme.

Q: Can you come and see me?
A:
Yes we can! If by chance you are too far for us to visit, the Internet does provide many ways of having business meetings online. When we do meet with you, we can discuss and choose a website package that suits your business.

Q: What if I already have my domain name registered?
A:
It is no problem if you have registered your domain name already. It is good to register it as soon as you have a company name so you don't lose the domain name you want. One thing you will want to do is check with the company you registered your domain with to make sure your registration is not tied to any hosting conditions with them. After your website is completed you can use the hosting from where you registered your domain, or through us.

Design Process

Q: Can you explain the design process?
A:
1) Contact Us
You start by contacting us either by phone, email, over even by our free quote form we offer. We then set a time to meet and review the details and requirements that you want for your site. After this, we would provide the total cost for your website to be created. Once we have agreed on a price we move onto the next step.

2) Send or Bring In a Deposit
You would then be provided with an invoice for 50% of the total price for your site. Your project will begin once your payment has cleared. Then comes step three.

3) Collecting Information
During this period we start to create your website's design, which you can view as we do this, by logging in on our clients' page. While we are doing this, you have to get together all the vital information about your business, customers, your product, and any other information you want to display on your site. After we receive your information, we move onto the next step.

4) Provide Feedback
By this time your website's design will be complete and we start adding the information you provided. During this time we encourage your feedback. It is your site, and we want you to be 100% satisfied with the final product.

5) Test and Launch
Once you have approved the final design, we do any tweaking that needs to be done to your site, so it loads fast, or makes it more appealing. We also start testing all features on your site, as well as making sure it works as intended on all major browsers, such as Firefox and Explorer. If during this time you still find a couple changes we can change them. Remember we want you to be 100% satisfied so we still encourage feedback during this period.

Once step five is done, your website is complete. Once it is to your satisfaction we require the rest of the payment. After this, the site is then set up, and ready for everyone to view.

The web design process generally takes anywhere from 2 - 6 weeks. We recommend that you have the majority of your information written before your design begins, then we can get your site designed and up and running in a matter of weeks.

Q: Why don't you use FrontPage?
A:
FrontPage generates a lot of HTML code that is unneeded and only recognized by the Internet Explorer browser. That means that a site built with FrontPage will often display fine in Internet Explorer because they are both created by Microsoft. When viewed in Netscape or Opera browsers it will be an unreadable mess.

Q: How many changes can I request to the template?
A:
We will make as many changes as necessary until it meets your approval. We do ask for a final approval to the design before adding the text and content to the pages.

Q: How can I view my website design as it is in progress?
A:
We invite you to come in and see the site at various stages.

We are coordinating the set up of a client page for our clients while we design their site. From here you will be able to view your site as it is being created. Also there will be a section for you to add your comments, requests, and additions or changes.

Completion

Q: Who owns the completed Website?
A:
Once the final payment is received, you will receive 100% ownership of your website.

Q: Once the site is complete, can I make changes and updates to it myself?
A:
Yes, but you will need to invest in web publishing software and you will need to learn how to use it. You will also need to learn how to transfer files to and from your site. Please note that we offer maintenance packages at very reasonable rates.
